Lesson titles are as follows:

  1. General introduction to ODL and PiOL
  2. Technology (for distribution etc.)
  3. Methodolgy in Internet based OL
  4. Administration of distance education
  5. Introduction to hyper systems
  6. Composition of information in hyper systems
  7. Applications of hyper media in education
  8. Examples of implemtation of hyper structures
  9. Coooperation in open learning
  10. Cooperativ learning
  11. Evaluation of ODL based on experiences from the NITOL project
  12. Pedagogy and design of ICT based learning
  13. Computer supported cooperative learning (CSCL) (given by University of Sheffield)
  14. & 15: Student lessons (made by student groups)

Prerequisites

Normal student qualification , Access to Internet, Knowledge of how to use a PC, lessons deliverd as MS-Word 6.0 for Windows.

Learning activities

Surce of material

Most of the learning material will be delivered electronically. The students will have access to a common file server where they can get hold of instructions and learning materials. In addition there will be established either a list server or a conference system for exchange of information between students - teachers etc. and where discussions may take place. This should act as help to create a virtual classrom.

Method of assessment

Written exam , 4 hours, 3credits (one year study provides 20 credits), given by one of the cooperationg institutions or alternatively product assessment (lessons produced at end of course.

Tutorial provisions

The professor responsible for the specific lecture has the responsibility for tutoring the students.

Main resposibility this first year has the NITOL-group in Norway.
